YOGURT AGAIN!


I have told you all about the magic of yogurt in the past……… I want to share a bit more information with you. Yogurt is an amazing source of phenylalanine, an amino acid that is critical to the production of energizing neurotransmitters such as dopamine and adrenaline. Because it is rich in protein it will help keep your blood sugar level all day. Now this is where it get’s really exciting! In a study at the University of Knoxville, people who consumed three daily servings of calcium rich dairy products……including yogurt……… lost 22 percent more weight, 66 percent more body fat and 81 percent more belly fat than those who consumed little or no dairy.

Yogurt’s healthy probiotic bacteria boost the body’s production of interferon, a infection fighting protein. Studies show interferon can cut the risk of viral infections and colds by up to 50% and helps speed recovery time by 74%. Look for yogurt brands with the “live and active cultures” seal.

Lastly, yogurt contains the amino acid tryptophan that the body converts into calming neurotransmitters melatonin and serotonin. Always opt for the Greek varieties which contain more protein. March on my yogurt eating soliders!!
