Many dieters fail because they are overwhelmed by their long term goals. Thinking you will be limited to a restricted diet for an extended period of time can be hard to…. swallow  SO what we at execuSlim suggest is to commit to your diet for a short, fixed amount of time that you’re 100 percent confident you can manage (even if it’s just a week or a few days).  Once you make it to your goal date, start over with a new goal that you are sure you can keep.  There is no shame in taking it one day at a time.  Smaller, more manageable, goals will leave you feeling accomplished and motivated!

I have found NIRVANA….. in the form of Kreation Organic Juicery. This beautiful little juicery and smoothie bar opened in Beverly Hills a few months back… with the flagship store residing in Santa Monica. This juice bar is by far the best I have ever found… EVER! Cold fresh pressed daily….So fresh you you feel alive after your first bottle….

Fabergé…. the famous Jeweller that created the  famous Russian Imperial Easter eggs, has organised a MASSIVE Easter Egg Hunt, with over 200 Easter eggs made by famous artists including Marc Quinn, Zandra Rhodes, Vivienne Westwood, Sir Ridley Scott, and Polly Morgan. The Easter eggs are made from fibreglass to ensure they can withstand the elements.

Each egg is roughly 76 centimetres high. All the eggs have been hidden across London.  Easter egg hunt participants only have the forty days and nights of Lent to find them all. Using either an iPhone or Android phone, egg hunters can receive clues through Facebook or Twitter to help them find the Fabergé Easter eggs and win prizes when they find them. One of the top prizes is a £100,000 Fabergé egg.

At the end of the 40 days, the decorated Fabergé Easter eggs will be sold at auction, with 170 of them sold online for those that can’t make it to the auction house. The money raised from the auction will be split equally between the Action For Children charity and the Elephant Family charity

The Big Egg Hunt by Fabergé started at 10am on the 21st February 2012.

Want to make your food more delicious? Research shows…. The heavier the dishes, the better tasting the food. In a study done with three bowls of identical yogurt, the yogurt in the heavier dish came out on top. The subjects were convinced that the yogurt in the heavier bowl tasted much better than the lighter bowls…. Even the consistency was reported to be fuller and less runny.

Moral of the story…. When serving meals, bring out the better china. The better the china the better the meal…..

a workout!

With all the technology we have at our finger tips, most jobs have become very sedentary.  We no longer have to walk to the mail box, because we have email.  No need to hurry to the phone, our cell phone is always by our side.  Every day I meet someone who complains of weight gain due to their demanding job and lack of exercise.

The truth is… it’s better to be more active all day long than to sit at a desk for 8 hours and go to the gym after for 30-40 min.  You can burn more calories moving more during regular activities (even at the office) than you can with just one isolated gym session.  Sneaking in more activity during the day is also a great way to burn calories on the off chance you don’t make it to the gym after work!  Here are a few office activities that will help you burn those calories:

*Walking to your coworkers desk to give a message, rather than using the intercom
*Standing while you take a phone call, rather than sitting
*Walking around and watering the office plants
*Taking the stairs instead of the elevator

NEW BUTTER??

This is a question I get a lot! Coconut oil had become a trendy new, “good” fat that is marketed as an alternative to butter or olive oil but what’s the deal? Well, most health claims associated with coconut oil are based on the fact that coconut oil’s main fat, lauric acid, is metabolized faster than other fats.  Some coconut oil advocates even suggest it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help protect you from illness.  However, there is little scientific evidence to back up these claims.  Although coconut oil may seem like a healthier alternative, it still has 4 to 5 more grams of saturated fat per tablespoon than BUTTER and 10 more grams than olive oil!  With stats like those, you would be a coco-NUT to make the swap.  I would stick with olive oil next time you need a dash of healthy fat!
